A Scotsman living in New York, Ashley Bendell left an established career as a stockbroker covering Emerging Markets in 2016 to join a global HCM organization. He quickly discovered a perception problem in HR. The industry was doing important work, yet its people were not always given the respect their energy, expertise and sense of humor deserved. That realization eventually inspired Ashley and co-founder Peter Phelan to launch Funny People (HR Comedy Club), with a mission to ‘Forget about a seat at the table. We all need a microphone’.
