Shweta Vohra is a Vice President at Microsoft and the Chief People Officer at GitHub – the world’s most widely adopted, AI-powered developer platform and home to over 150 million developers. In her role, she leads GitHub’s global people strategy in close partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring the systems, culture, and leadership capabilities that fuel GitHub’s fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. Her work plays a critical role in shaping the employee experience and enabling the people behind GitHub’s platform to do their best work. Before joining GitHub, Shweta served as Chief People Officer at Lacework (acquired by Fortinet), bringing a deep background spanning business operations, customer success, strategy, and all aspects of people leadership. Earlier in her career, she held several leadership roles at Splunk and other companies serving both commercial and consumer markets. Shweta earned her MBA from The Wharton School of Business. Outside of GitHub, Shweta thrives outdoors and enjoys exploring new places with her family. She is also passionate about advising HR tech companies and championing people-first innovation that strengthen both the future of work and the human experience at its center.
