Governing AI Before it Governs Us

The next era of AI won’t be shaped by algorithms alone; it will be shaped by the values we encode, the tradeoffs we accept, and the power structures we reinforce. As AI systems take on more autonomous, high-stakes decisions, ethical questions move from compliance checklists to existential ones. This session looks ahead to what compliance means in a world of agentic systems, synthetic data, and machine-made judgment. Attendees will be challenged to rethink governance, accountability, and human oversight and to decide what role they want to play in defining the future of AI before it defines us.
