Bernard is the SVP, People at Swing Education, leading the People function. Before Swing, he led employee engagement and DEI at Gusto, and DEI at Uber. He directed Hillary for America’s HR and DEI efforts, becoming the first CDO in US history for any presidential campaign. His insights have appeared in Inc, Forbes, The New York Times, TIME, and TechCrunch. Bernard is a former Fellow at the Center for American Progress. He holds an MBA from Trinity University, a BA in psychology from Hampton University, a Strategic Diversity & Inclusion Management certification from Georgetown University, and graduated from UVA's Sorensen Institute.
