Jennifer H. Mieres, MD, is a professor of cardiology, leading expert in women’s cardiovascular disease and advocacy. She is Northwell Health’s first chief diversity and inclusion officer and provides strategic guidance for Northwell’s diversity and health equity initiatives. Under Dr. Mieres’ leadership, Northwell Health has been recognized as a top health system for diversity, equity and inclusion, most notably by Diversity Inc. as a “Top 10” health care institution for a measurable commitment to health care justice. She has authored more than 70 scientific publications, has presented her research at over 100 conferences, has co-authored three books, and co-produced four documentaries.
